Christian Dior Partners with Rihanna's Clara Lionel Foundation
Dior and Rihanna partner up for "We Should All Be Feminists" T-shirts.
Being one of the biggest and most visible musical acts on the planet, Rihanna has garnered a great deal of lucrative partnerships—one being with Christian Dior, the famed French maison that contracted the songstress to be the face of its perfume, Secret Garden IV. She also collaborated on a pair of sunglasses, and is a regular at its Paris fashion shows. Now it seems the brand is strengthening the bond in a more profound and socially conscious way.
Dior has recently announced that it will offer up T-shirts that say “We Should All Be Feminists,” where a percentage of the proceeds from each sale will support Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation, a nonprofit organization that funds education, health and emergency response programs around the world—particularly in Barbados, the singer’s home country.
“Seeing artists such as Rihanna wearing the ‘We Should All Be Feminists’ T-shirt showed me how important it is for women to advance their fight,” said Maria Grazia Chiuri, Artistic Director of Christian Dior Couture, in a statement. “I am proud that the T-shirt from my first Dior show bearing Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's slogan is now on sale to finance the Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF), Rihanna's charitable association, which is committed to improving the lives of disadvantaged people.
The shirts, which were first seen at Chiuri’s inaugural show for Dior, will be available at Dior boutiques and Dior.com until May 15th. Furthermore, a commercial version of the “We Should All Be Feminists” T-shirt will be available on Saks.com from March 14th to March 28th.
