Kawanna Brown 

Kawanna Brown is the Chief Operating Officer of Magic Johnson Enterprises (MJE), overseeing all Magic Johnson related businesses. Kawanna began her career on the business side of MJE, recruited by a mentor who recognized her strong work ethic. Working with the company, Kawanna saw the Magic Johnson Foundation shift from HIV-AIDS focused grant making to evolving to address the needs of urban communities, including education and social needs.

In her current role, Kawanna oversees all operations related to business priorities, growth opportunities and ventures, and manages the executive team, to ensure the company is working collaboratively and cohesively to achieve its goals. 

Kawanna is passionate about mentoring and encouraging young people from all walks of life to define and pursue their own success. As the first in her family to graduate from college, Kawanna saw early on the importance of access as a definitive reason to pursue higher education.

She also has been recognized countless times for her outstanding contributions to business and volunteerism, including the prestigious Lexus "Pursuit of Perfection Award,” the UCLA Black Alumni Association's "Arthur Ashe Award," and Essence Magazine's "Power List."
